Atomic, molecular, and optical physics ( AMO) is the study of matter -matter and light -matter interactions; at the scale of one or a few atoms and energy scales around several electron volts. The three areas are closely interrelated. AMO theory includes classical, semi-classical and quantum treatments. Dalton’s Atomic Theory English chemist John Dalton subsequently made on the Greek notion of atoms in 1808. He postulated that matter is made of atoms, which are small indivisible particles. He also proposed that while all atoms of one element are identical, they are totally different from those that make up other elements.
